Beneficiation of low grade Phosphate Rock by Shaking Table of Garhi Habib Ullah (GHU), District Mansehra

Three fourths phosphate deposits of the worlds are sedimentary origin. Approximately 60%-80% and 20%-40% of these deposits contain carbonate and quartz gangue. In this research dolomitic formation sedimentary phosphate deposit of Ghari Habib Ullah (GHU) district Mansehra, Pakistan were studied. These deposits contain major mineral flourapatite, quartz, calcite and hematite with an average 22%-25% P2O5 grade. Different processing methods were adopted in past for the low grade Up-gradation up to marketable grade. These studies were carried out with an aim to select optimum methods for the phosphate beneficiation to produce economical concentrate grade from low grade phosphate ore. Gravity separation methods such as shaking table are applied on sample at laboratory scale. Using shaking table for up-gradation of low grade phosphate deposit give acceptable grades 30.22% with 57.3%-59.6% recovery.
