REACTION AND DIFFUSION MECHANISMS IN MAMMALIAN CELL VIA IN SILICO MODELING

Abstract


Due to complex structure of cell, mathematical modeling of the diffusion and reaction of toxic compounds in mammalian cell is becoming more and more interesting and predominating. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are highly lipophilic, react with DNA and may cause many diseases like cancer and tumor etc. In mammalian cell, cytoplasm has various tiny membrane layers, i. e., lipid and water. We have constructed a mathematical structure where cytoplasm is consider as a cumulation of seperate sub-domain. To check the validity of incipient non-homogenized model, numerical results were compared with homogenized model which are very close to each other.
